Keep asking. Keep learning.
I like learning things I can actually use. A good explanation, a helpful example, or a bit of patient guidance can make an unfamiliar task feel manageable. This part of BNKG is for that kind of learning.
No embarrassment in being a beginner
We all start somewhere. Whether you’re learning a sport, trying a new recipe, or figuring out a piece of technology, asking a question is a useful first step. You don’t need to pretend you understand something just to keep up.
I prefer clear instructions and practical examples. Show what to do, explain why it matters, and leave room for someone to try it.
Learn it, then use it
Break a task into smaller parts. Practise one part until it feels familiar, then add the next. You’ll see that approach in our pickleball training and in the way I write cooking instructions.
Progress doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s remembering the next step, fixing the same mistake sooner, or finally asking the question you’ve been holding back.
Finding useful opportunities
Scholarships, grants, training programmes, and community learning opportunities can be worth exploring. When I share an opportunity here, I want you to be able to find the original organiser, understand who can apply, and see the deadline clearly.
An announcement should help you decide what to do next. I won’t treat a forwarded poster as enough information by itself.
Share a question or an opportunity
If there’s a topic you’d like explained, or a learning opportunity you think the community should know about, send me the original details. We can start with something small and useful.
From my archive: the 2024 learning kit
In July 2024, I offered a Back-to-School Challenge with a pre-loved computer and printer, paper, and school allowance support. The students’ reasons for joining mattered to me. I wanted the kit to be useful to someone who would make the most of it.
This is a past activity, not an open application or a promise of a new grant.
